It’s Ours!!

13 years and it’s Ours!
After 13 years of waiting on the Lord God has provided YWAM Newcastle a building!!! It’s about 5 blocks away from our house and it is a beauty…well not really but it’s going to be :) We will no longer have to lease and rent but now we own! God spoke to our base director and his wife 13 years ago about having inheritance and our own land. This building will have our offices, DTS lecture rooms, Youth Street skate park, recording studios, dance studios etc. Thank you for all your prayers!!! We are all celebrating this amazing promise fulfilled.

Camping in the Bush
Camping in the bush was amazing! We got to go on a boat and I even tried tubing for the 1st time! It was great to spend time with those on my staff training. We made meals together, laughed, even shed some tears. The Lord met us in a powerful way Thursday morning when we spent alone time with God for about an hour and then came together again to share. The main focus was Joel 2:13 “rendering your heart to the Lord.” To put Him first by giving Him your heart, your cares, and your desires and in turn He will give you His heart and desires. Very often we come to God with a list of cares and concerns and all He wants is for us to be with Him and spend time with Him. Ah it was so sweet and we had an amazing time of praying and affirming eachother. This trip was also a special time to invest into the DTS students by spending quality time with them.

YOUTHSTREET
Please continue to pray kids would be drawn into coming and that they would feel loved on and accepted into beloved by us. Also that more would be affected by the Gospel and come into a radical relationship with God.

Courtney and Her Dream
One of the girls told me that she had a dream of us singing one of her favorite songs at the open mic night at our cafe. That was really encouraging to hear that from her since it’s hard for her to engage and be a part of the music team. She came over to the house today to practice so we’re planning on singing the song next Thursday at Open Mic. I’ll get some video of it and put it on here as soon as I can :)

To Write Love on Her Arms
Stevie(youth street director) got back this week and I was able to go along with some people to pick him up in Sydney and have some time to talk. It’s great having him back so I can really get plugging away. While on his holidays he met this guy who has pretty much started a youth culture revolution with a t-shirt saying “to write love on her arms” basically it brings awareness to kids about suicide prevention. You can check out his webiste here www.twloha.com He’s an amazing Christian guy and is planning on coming to Australia end of this month till March 20th. He is into Youth Street and wants to speak for our youth service on Saturday night. This is an amazing opporunity along with putting on a Walking on Water premiere here in Newcastle. So let’s just say I have my hands full but I am really enjoying it. Stevie has left me to do research and plan for these events and I am stoked to do it!
End of STS
STS ended this Friday :( God has taught me so much through it and I’m kinda sad to end lectures :( Oh well I’ll sit in DTS Lectures here and there. Though I’m sad the training season is over I’m excited to go full on into ministry and really start planning and organizing events for the future.
As far as chaplaincy goes I believe the Lord has a hold on that for now. I just received an article about it becoming secularized because of the new Labor Party stepping in with the new Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. The Lord has been revealing to me thatbefore I go home in May that I am to serve YWAM and the base and then when I come back in July that is when I will really dive into chaplaincy and getting into high schools. I’m still doing my research and looking into more training but for now I really want to focus on these 2 upcoming events and pour my all into them.

Calvary Chapel Newcastle
I’ve gotten back into fellowshiping and attending Calvary Chapel Newcastle and for the past 3 weekends I’ve been leading worship while their worship leader is away on holiday. They have asked me to lead every other week! I’m really blessed to go to Calvary here…feels like home :) I’ve also been leading base worship on Wednesdays with a band it is really good to worship with my family here. I feel like God is really growing and stretching more than ever before in this area and I’m stoked. :)

Prayer Requests
– Youth Street and the music team that kids would have the desire to come and accept Jesus and grow in their relationships with God.
– 4-6pm tutoring program on Thursdays. That it would be a time where we meet their physical need by providing help with their homework and be used by God to care for them and love them with Christ’s love.
– The new building that our loans would be approved and ready to move in April 30th.
–For Courtney Youth Street crew that she would open up more and that the Open Mic would go well.
